I have extensive experience in Web Design and Front-end Web Development. Over the years I have helped write the code to build or maintain over 3000 websites. My passion has always been the front-end, the view, the design of the user interface, and all parts of the user experience, from general impressions, aesthetics, and usability, to branding and conversions.
An interactive calendar organized in 13 “months” of 28 days, that also shows the traditional months and astronomical lunar phases of the moon as the ebb and flow of darker and lighter hues. Each day therefore is a separate color, with the hue of each lunation suggesting the seasonal temperature. Link opens a new tab for the interactive version at: CodePen.
An experiment in creating double exposure photographic art. You can take the fox out of the forest, but you can’t take the forest out of the fox.

How to Learn Another Language
This is an infographic I made about language learning. Languages have been a side interest of mine for a long time. Besides English, I speak Esperanto almost fluently, and Spanish at an intermediate level.
This business card was part of a rebranding initiative I did for a local painting / powerwashing company.

Quikscript Computer Font
In the 1950s, Kingsley Read, inspired by George Bernard Shaw, created two phonetic alphabets for the English language. This is a mini-poster I made showing off a font I created for the Second Shaw Alphabet, also known as Quikscript. This was the first computer font ever created for Quikscript. The text is the Lord's Prayer in English, written in the phonetic Second Shaw alphabet.
I later created a second font to solve some kerning issues and correct some letterforms. Both are available from the downloads page.
RockOm.net was an online magazine, featuring interviews and podcasts with musicians around the world. I did the site design, layout, and front-end coding and maintenance as well as most of the graphics outside of the articles.
ForRent Media Solutions is a division of Dominion Enterprises, where I was a senior Web developer and UI architect. The flagship website of the business is ForRent.com, one of the country’s leading online guides to apartments and homes for rent.
Although I was a Web developer, not a graphic designer, during my years at ForRent I worked on several redesigns of the site, always working closely with the product and graphic teams for the site. Other sites I worked on included CorporateHousing.com, SeniorOutlook.com, ForRentUniversity.com, and ParaRentar.com.
CorporateHousing.com, another ForRent Media Solutions Website, focusing on short-term housing solutions. It was the first FRMS redesign project I worked on.
Before ForRent, I was working in another section of Dominion Enterprises, Vehicle Web Services / PowerSportsNetwork, which dealt with boats, trucks, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, and RVs. This was an old redesign of Marine Web Services.
